Ever heard of a part-time M-O-M?
What does that even mean?
What can be above being a mother?
A feeling so tender, so sacred and so pious. From emotional upheavals to the fussy paranoid over-protective parent, we have seen it all. I want to see my child taking her first step. I want to share the joy of her first words and I also want to be available to her whenever she needs me.
But WAIT…There is something stopping me from doing that.
Afterall, I am, a part-time mother with a full-time job!
Why do you need to work? They questioned.
I humbly say, I have a desire of being “somebody”, a zeal to prove myself and most importantly make my own identity.
Being given the opportunity to work for at a Fortune Global 500 company, ‘blessed’ I feel for being able to contribute to the nation building.
I toil day-in-and-day-out, running on my toes to meet my job expectations and give my family a hope…
A HOPE of being understood!
Someday, my daughter will understand why I couldn’t come to comfort her when she fell down from the swings; why I missed that PTM and why I sometimes simply cry when she blabbers about her day.
To all the wonderful mothers, stay strong and those tiny monsters would also appreciate that you didn’t give up.
