‘Is the Sun in My Bed?’ is one of the 17 storybooks in ‘The Grandma Earth Series’, conceptualized and developed by Prof (Dr) Shalini Verma ‘Lifoholic’ – Founder of Samvaw Foundation and published by Books33 (A Unit of Aadya Green Gifting Pvt. Ltd.).

The objective of this series is to make young children in the age group of 3-8 years aware about the Mission LiFE & 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As recommended by NEP 2020, STORYTELLING pedagogy has been adopted throughout this series “to engage and strengthen the Foundational Learning of the children of the age group 3-8 years going to Anganwadi/pre-school/Balvatika or class 1 & 2 of regular schools”.
Written by Katie Bagli, illustrated by Sushmita Karmakar and designed by Shamim Nida, ‘Is the Sun in My Bed?’ is based on SDG 7 – ‘Affordable and Clean Energy’. The story centres around a 6-year-old Ricky and his Ma who observe interesting things in the Sea Woods Nature Park before going to the Pizza Café that offered a very unique way of making pizzas to its customers.
