‘Weber the Spider’ is one of the 17 storybooks in ‘The Grandma Earth Series’, conceptualized and developed by Prof (Dr) Shalini Verma ‘Lifoholic’ – Founder of Samvaw Foundation and published by Books33 (A Unit of Aadya Green Gifting Pvt. Ltd.).

The objective of this series is to make young children in the age group of 3-8 years aware about the Mission LiFE & 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As recommended by NEP 2020, STORYTELLING pedagogy has been adopted throughout this series “to engage and strengthen the Foundational Learning of the children of the age group 3-8 years going to Anganwadi/pre-school/Balvatika or class 1 & 2 of regular schools”.
Written by Katie Bagli, illustrated by Sushmita Karmakar and designed by Shamim Nida, ‘Weber the Spider’ is based on based on SDG 15 – ‘Life on Land’. The story centres around Weber the spider and his exciting journey in the different terrains of the country – from snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas to the grasslands of Kaziranga to the Sundarbans – the largest Mangrove forest in the world – to the Kanha forest in the middle of India and to finally landing in the Kutch dessert!
