About the Author
Kristine Bell DeTienne
Kristen Bell DeTienne, Ph.D. is the Alice Bell Jones Professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership and Strategy at BYU. Dr. DeTienne earned her doctorate from the University of Southern California. Dr. DeTienne’s research has received international recognition. In 2014 she was named a Beckham Scholar at BYU. In 2010, she received the “Outstanding Paper Award” for her article in Competitiveness Review. Her research was selected for Best of the American Bar Association, outstanding article of the year by the Association for Business Communication, Best of Conference Honours at the Organizational Behaviour Teaching Conference, and Best Paper from the Southwest Academy of Management. Kristen’s books, Guide to Electronic Communication, and Management Communication, are used internationally. She has published over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings.
